Phi Theta Kappa (Kappa Eta Chapter)

Projects

Why does Phi Theta Kappa do Community Service?

Phi Theta Kappa has several worthwhile and successful programs established to provide the opportunity to give of yourself in the community as well as to Gulf Coast Community College. The programs involve educating, supporting, and mentoring. By volunteering you will help Phi Theta Kappa reach its goals for the year 2008-2009 as well as be rewarded and recognized for service to others. Listed below are the activities the Kappa Eta Chapter is working with this year. Please feel free to contact one of the officers with ideas or suggestions for other projects.

Keep America Beautiful

The 2008-2010 Phi Theta Kappa International Service Project is Operation Green: Improving our Communities in partnership with Keep America Beautiful.

The Kappa Eta Chapter will have a number of service opportunities this year that incorporates the International Service Project. Come back soon for more information.

American Cancer Society

The Kappa Eta Chapter looks forward to working with the American Cancer Society and it's Relay For Life project this year.

Last year's participation was made a success through the hard work of Service Officer Lisa Markum. We look forward to have another successful Relay For Life.

Habitat for Humanity Project

The Habitat for Humanity helps provide affordable houses in partnership with those who qualify for assistance in owning their own homes. Call the Habitat For Humanity of Bay County (HFHBC) at (850) 784-9975. You will get a prerecorded message; it is not set up to record messages. You must listen carefully because the message will give you the date, time, and place of the next house construction. If you have further questions you may contact The Habitat Hotline at (850) 785-3773. Or visit their website http://www.habitatbay.org/.
